Maine Photo Journal

As summer comes to a end it can only mean one thing for the Matsumoto family, Maine. Going to Maine, staying in the same house, seeing the same people, its kind of become a tradition. The brisk but summer-y air always means fun. After the hiking, socializing, eating, kayaking and swimming in freezing water we all seem to be pretty tired. Here are a couple picture of our trip to Maine this summer.

This is the house, The Wellington. Every year we think this weird old brown painted house is going to get sold but it never does. Even though the house could use a paint job the view is insane and it always feels like a old friend when we return.

Swimming off the dock in new wet suits we picked up.

Of course the food is very important. On the left is the view from our favorite lobster place, therstins. On the right is the sign of a home run business by a guy who goes out to collect clams and his wife who sells them. This has quickly become my dads favorite place to get food, it allows him to have fun cooking while supporting a local business.

Here are some shots from a hike we did in Acadia Nation Park. Checking out a tide pool that actually had star fish. Also its always amazing to see flowers growing out of rock..

Another day we visited a farm, The Smiths Family Farm to return the jars from their great yogurt. Here is the daughter, a complete farm girl showing me her chicks, and the comical cows.

Veiw from the dock.

If you are ever not feeling the sea food head over to Your Mothers Kitchen Sandwich Shop. They have great well made simple sandwiches with local ingredients.

Can you spot the highlighter?

After kayaking on long pond we decided to take a swim while wearing life vest diapers. Try it, its fun.

Veiws from the house. Dear on a rock beach? what? plus a b-e-a-utiful sunset.

One more hike, picking all the blue berries and black berries. Also climbing rocks with the bro.
Exploring the rocks with Izzy.

Flying home? Nine hours shorter than the drive, yes!!

Amagansett Photo Journal

One of my favorite places in the world is Amagansett. A small town in the hamptons, between Montauk and East hampton. My aunt has a tiny saltbox house out there where my brother and I sleep in the attic. Although it is not glamourous it is well worth the long days at the beach, the adorable town and little community. Here are some photos from this trip.

Some veiws from the house: Pretty wild flowers, The house, The bro kicking a soccer ball in my face, The little outlook porch overlooking the wet lands.

My one and only, favorite dog in need of a trim.

The perfect cup for tea in the morning, and a break from the beach lunch.

Beach jumps off the cliff and skating back to the house (really i cant skateboard) #totallydude

 Hammock time? I think yes

Too much sun

Bonfires, guitars and s'mores
